Angharad May – Missing You

Missing You

My heart aches with a longing for you.
As every dull beat murmurs,
it pounds heavily in my chest,
reverberating ever ponderous.
Like the gentle touch of a finger
on a glass-surfaced pool, creating a
small circle which ripples overwhelmingly,
shattering the perfection we had.
This shattering is the pain of missing you.
On and on the circles pullulate,
on and on the pain.
Missing you is a chronic constant,
a growing amaranthine pain.

Tear out my heart and place it in the pool,
it shall still beat,
pounding ceaseless ripples in the water,
for as long as I miss you.
Tear out my heart and place it in the pool,
drowning, it screams,
do you no longer hear?
