Mariyah Mandhu – Autumn
Fired leaves dew drenched,
Bundled on the crisp morning grass
A wave of colour icing nature’s underlay
Blanketing spring’s long gone vivacity.
The honeyed glaze of the sun’s rays
Filters through the mass oak trees
On the neighbouring bramble bushes.
Moss stained boulders speckle
The timid edges of the reservoir;
Mother nature’s protective pillars
Encasing the azure-grey aqueous mass.
Bittersweet symphonies fill the sky;
Long lost expressions of love
Infiltrating the tranquil air
Of autumn’s essence.
Hidden pleasures are sought
In the palm of autumn
The season of warmth and prosperity,
Regeneration and serenity.
